DEATH SITS DOWN TO DINNER BY TESSA ARLEN
DEATH SITS DOWN TO DINNER BY TESSA ARLEN: Much to my pleasure the book kept me guessing till the last four chapters as to who killed Sir Reginald ( I got it half right) Taken out of the age of Edwardian well to do, this historical mystery fiction kept me guessing which delighted me to the very end. Twists, turns and a few false clues, the author keeps you reading until she (and Lady Montfort) are ready to unmask the evil doer. So if you like your mystery with a touch of history Ms Arlen provides. I cant wait to get ahold of the first in the series as well as more of Lady Montfort and Mrs.Jackson's sleuthing!

CLARENCE OLGIBEE BY ALAN S KESSLER
CLARENCE OLGIBEE BY ALAN S KESSLER tells the tale first of Jimmy Tate Sullivan, who in 1974 stood by and watched his friends beat a black man to death. Jimmy found guilty is sentenced to life in prison where his life,of course, makes a dramatic change . That story is told first to lead the reader into CLARENCE OLGIBEE growing up in 1954, where we really learn that actions do present consequences no matter if they are good or bad actions. As the pages flip by you keep going deeper and deeper into the lives of Clarence and his friends & family, racism and class conflicts. Its not a pretty book but it is a book that is worthy of a read, and not a bad read from an "unknown author" (mr. kessler's words not mine!) I see good things coming from this author!

TRIVIA MADNESS: 1000 FUN TRIVIA QUESTIONS BY BILL O'NEILL
What ISNT to love about trivia? I literally grew up loving trivia. My brother was hooked and got me hooked on trivia. He spent an entire study hall watching "Go Ask Alice" to find out what the phone number she called in the movie. TRIVIA MADNESS: 1000 FUN TRIVIA QUESTIONS BY BILL O'NEILL'S book was a quick "read" too quick in my opinion. Questions ranged from the 70's TV to 2015 questions. Cant wait for the sequel to come out! I received this ebook free from LibraryThing in exchange for a review.

THE TRAIN TO CRYSTAL CITY: FDR'S SECRET PRISONER EXCHANGE PROGRAM AND AMERICA'S ONLY FAMILY INTERNMENT CAMP DURING WWII BY JAN JARBOE RUSSELL
THE TRAIN TO CRYSTAL CITY: FDR'S SECRET PRISONER EXCHANGE PROGRAM AND AMERICA'S ONLY FAMILY INTERNMENT CAMP DURING WWII BY JAN JARBOE RUSSELL. I have a love/hate relationship with history/non fiction. I have LOVED history since I was in grade school. I even won a prize in school for my "reporting" of the Civil War. When I read this book it took me a couple of days to figure out how I was going to review it. I HATE non fiction like this because it boggles my mind that this stuff is REAL not some imaginary story from an author.
The US actually took thousands of American citizens, men women and children into prison camps just because the parents were born in Japan, Germany or Italy. The children(who are American citizens) lived behind the barbed wire, were guarded by American soldiers with guns at the ready & some were forced to go back to where their parents were born and live in a world they knew NOTHING about. The book focuses on several of the children of German & Japanese parents & how their lives, their world was destroyed by Pearl Harbor . These children did nothing to warrant their punishment nor did their parents except that they were German, Japanese & Italian
We have all heard of what the Germans did to the Jews during WWII & I hope we never forget it. But until I read this book I knew there were internment camps here but I never really knew the truth INSIDE the internment camps. A must read for people who have the same love/hate relationship of history as I do

THE GANGSTER BY CLIVE CUSSLER
I have always loved Clive Cussler's novels! I have been a die hard fan of Cussler's for many many years & Issac Bell's adventures are no different. Packed with non stop action Cussler(and Bell) are on the streets of New York City circa 1906 where the Irish gang The Black Hand are destroying and killing the Irish communities. The Van Dorn Agency is hired to stop them as well as other nefarious plots.
Loaded with history, action, mystery & yes a dash of romance THE GANGSTERS BY CLIVE CUSSLER is a non stop read with plenty of excitement for any reader!

KILLING KENNEDY:THE END OF CAMELOT BY BILL O'REILLY
KILLING KENNEDY:THE END OF CAMELOT BY BILL O'REILLY is another book in Mr.O'Reilly's "killing" series. Mr. O'Reilly takes the reader back to 1960's and JFK's very very short Presidency. The life, the wife, the women, the politics & the Mafia, Mr.O'Reilly takes us to see JFK, Jackie's life. Read the story of PT-109, of the Bay of Pigs and of the Missiles of October. I thought I knew all there was to know about JFK but then I read Mr.O'Reilly's KILLING KENNEDY . I also thought I knew about Oswald and his life but I read this book and found out a lot. You can hate Bill O'Reilly but when it comes to these books you need to let the book stand on its own merit. This is a must read for anyone who loves history.
