THE ROW BY J.R. JOHANSSON is told in the perspective of Riley, the child of a serial killer on death row, or is he serial killer ? Riley , who was six when her father was arrested , tried and convicted of being a serial killer, is now seventeen & her father is one month away from being executed for the brutal murders of women. Riley up to this point has always stood by her father, visiting him weekly in prison & determined to prove his innocence. When the last appeal has been denied Riley's father tells her that he did commit the murders. Riley, shaken by the confession sets out to prove he's lying about that so he can make his punishment for the murders easier on her.
The story is told in the perspective of the child of a serial killer. Its a different perspective. Usually its told by the killer or the police. Here we see the child's point of view. How people treat her like a serial killer herself, whether at work or in the neighborhood.
The more you get into the book the more you want to see Riley's dad found innocent. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and wanting to know more. Its then ending of the book that really blew me out of the water.

DOWNSTAIRS AT THE WHITE HOUSE:THE STORY OF A TEENAGER,AN OVAL OFFICE AND A RINGSIDE SEAT TO WATERGATE BY DONALD M STINSON
DOWNSTAIRS AT THE WHITE HOUSE:THE STORY OF A TEENAGER,AN OVAL OFFICE AND A RINGSIDE SEAT TO WATERGATE BY DONALD M STINSON, tells the "downstairs" version of working in the White House, EOB & the Watergate disaster. The book is not only the story of Mr.Stinson, teenager, college student and White House "help" but it tells of history in the making, plus the history of the White House, EOB. You get to feel what it is really like working as a "gofer." Mr. Stinson not only wrote about Watergate from his perspective but lived it.
I found the book not only very informative about the workings of our government, but some of the stories and some of the situations Mr.Stenson gets into totally hilarious!
As a rule I dont do many biographies, or autobiographies because they can be kinda dry at times .However, Mr.Stinson has injected stories in his, using his experiences & made this book a VERY good read!

YEAR ONE BY NORA ROBERTS
YEAR ONE (CHRONICLES OF THE ONE) BY NORA ROBERTS is well off her beaten track of romances, but let me say that I was highly impressed with the book! My mom listened to the audio and told me to get it that it is right up my alley! Ms Roberts, who is well known for her romances as well as her alter ego JD ROBB her murder mysteries has taken a big step into the realm of dystopian/fantasy and come up with a HIT! When I started the book I thought ho hum another version of virus, mass deaths people hitting the road but as I got into the book I found that this is not your typical disaster book. Once the book got rolling it was fast paced & surprises at every turn. Characters that you meet on the street they are so believable. You want these people to win. You want them to succeed! But we dont always get what we wish for do we? As I said before, Ms Roberts has taken a huge leap into another genre & come out with a winner! I cant wait for book two!

SCORCHED SHADOWS (HELLEQUIN CHRONICLES #7) BY STEVE MCHUGH
SCORCHED SHADOWS(HELLEQUIN CHRONICLES #7) BY STEVE MCHUGH.
First off let me say how I was not looking forward to reading the final series book in the Hellequin Chronicles since I have read all of them and look forward to reading more! Second, this is not the end , but the beginning of something I hope is just a good as the Hellequin Chronicles.
This book answered questions not only for the reader but for Nate Garrett as well. I like that it wasnt all Nate this and Nate that but we got to learn more about some of the key characters or the "people" surrounding Nate as well. Mordred, who was a real nasty dude is actually trying to make amends and win back friends tells his side of the story.
The plot involved the humans as well as the sorcerers & "beings" that makes up Nates world. It has just as much kick ass action in it with Nate and his friends going after a group hell bent in blaming the Hellequin for all the death and destruction in our Earth realm as well as other realm's.
This one deserves more than five stars and a must read for anyone who likes the fast paced action in McHugh's books

BLACKWING (RAVENS MARK #1)ED MCDONALD
BLACKWING (RAVEN'S MARK #1 BY ED MCDONALD.
Wow folks! I havent read and reviewed many fantasy books but this one has made of quick fan of me! Action, Sorcerers, Magic a Princess that may or may not need a hand & a "hero" whose grizzled, dirty ,loves his booze & has a crow that comes out of his arm when it needs a job done! (seriously)
Bounty Hunter Ryhalt Galharrow spends his days hunting down the traitors and conspirators who help and side with the Deep Kings. Ryhalt used to think everything about his job and his life was black and white till he finds out that there is a web of conspiracy that threatens his world. Once he finds out the truth he finds himself questioning everything.
One of the most unlikely heroes has come to life between the pages of BLACKWING and this being book one I cannot wait for book two.

TRUE CRIME:HOMICIDE AND TRUE CRIME STORIES OF 2016 BY JACK ROSEWOOD
TRUE CRIME: HOMICIDE & TRUE CRIME STORIES OF 2016 BY JACK ROSEWOOD is an audiobook on some of the lesser and not so lesser known homicides of 2016 . I am a huge fan of true crime stories, morbid I know, and Mr.Rosewood does one heck of a job researching and getting the nitty gritty of not only crimes of passion but high profile (fbi killer). He lays the facts before the reader in a succinct precise way that turns this audiobook into an entertaining read.

A CRY FOR JUSTICE BY STONE GRISSON
A CRY FOR JUSTICE BY STONE GRISSOM from the beginning captures you attention and does not let go for even one minute,or in this case one page! The characters are so real, so in depth you think you are reading non fiction instead of fiction. The plot grabs you and holds onto you and it does not let go until the very ending .
Gavin Brady, fresh out of law school & having not even passed the BAR exams is hired by a very prestigious law firm. His very first week he gets handed what he thinks at first is a simple suit, a girl is shot to death by Samoan gang members and acquitted so he's supposed to go after the gun manufacturers . Sounds routine? Nope, Gavin does his job too well (to impress the boss) and uncovers plots cooked up and covered up by the DA's office and cops. The more Gavin digs, the more dangerous his life becomes.
Mr Grissom has taken law degree and his journalistic talents and come up with one hell of a thriller!

THE GREAT BOOK OF 1967 BY WALTER MOORE
THE GREAT BOOK OF 1967 US YEARBOOK FULL OF INTERESTING FACTS & EVENTS FROM 1967 BY WALTER MOORE, is, as it says, chocked full of factoids about the year 1967!
I love trivia in any shape or form and this ebook focuses on the year 1967 (yes, I was alive then,) Give me a trivia book like this one and I am happy as the proverbial clam! The book includes everything from musical trivia like June 1st: the album "Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band's release date to politics , January 3rds Ronald Regan became Gov of California to the Vietnam War to the December 21st release of the Graduate and everything in between!

SUBHUMAN(UNIT 51) BY MICHAEL MCBRIDE
SUBHUMAN (UNIT 51) BY MICHAEL MCBRIDE is the first in the Unit 51 series. The first half of the book slugs, and I mean slugs along. The second half finally starts getting into the action when a group of scientists in the Arctic come across an alien civilization literally frozen in time. If you can tolerate the first half of the book with the character formation and the scientific stuff then you are in for a thrill ride the second half.

KILLING JESUS: A HISTORY BY BILL O'REILLY
KILLING JESUS: A HISTORY BY BILL O'REILLY. Fact, fiction or a little of both? Mr O'Reilly admits at the very beginning of this book that researching Jesus Christ proved to be very difficult. No YouTube videos no photo's no Twitter feeds so he took the biblical teachings and the research and the books of others (well documented in the back of the book) and tried to give the reader what it could have been like back when Jesus walked the roads. I cant say whether this is true or false cause hey folks this is really AGO! As to the quality of the book, like his other books in the series he has taken a historical figure and literally brought him to life in the pages. I found this a very fast read and very engrossing and yes very violent book but well worth the time to read in my opinion.

ECHOS IN DEATH BY J.D.ROBB(44)
ECHOES IN DEATH BY J.D. ROBB finds Eve Dallas standing for the dead once again. This time, Eve and Roarke are coming home from a "do" and they come up on Daphne Strazza, beaten, raped and naked on a cold New York night. She takes Daphne to the ER and then she and Roarke make a visit to the woman's home and finds her murdered husband. From this point, Eve finds that that bodies are piling up and she and her team must stop the murderer/rapist before he can kill and rape again.
You'd think after 44 books in a series the author would be getting kind of stale ,but NOT MS ROBB. The murder just keeps on coming and fans like me keep on enjoying the mystery and the characters that make the "in death" series page turners and must reads!

THE FIFTH ASSASSIN BY BRAD MELTZER
THE FIFTH ASSASSIN BY BRAD MELTZER is the second book in the Culper Ring. The Culper Ring, first founded, if you will ,by General George Washington, consists of ordinary run of the mill citizens who spied for Washington exists today, at least in Mr. Meltzer's today. An action packed thriller the Ring is trying not only to protect the President from an assassin but figure out why and who is killing Clergy using the same methods and the same timing as those infamous figures in history who assassinated past Presidents. The story has many little subplots throughout that finishes in one great big huge ending that surprised even me. The historical significance of not only the Culper Ring but the killings of our past Presidents and the story behind just the average deck of cards kept me not only reading the book but surfing the net . Not only will the thriller fans love this book but it crosses into the historical fiction of our country's past. This ones a keeper and a must read!

LAST HOPE ISLAND:BRITAIN, OCCUPIED EUROPE AND THE BROTHERHOOD THAT HELPED TURNED THE TIDE OF THE WAR BY LYNN OLSON
BRAVO! EXCELLENT! A totally, will never forget book! LAST HOPE ISLAND:BRITAIN, OCCUPIED EUROPE AND THE BROTHERHOOD THAT HELPED TURNED THE TIDE OF THE WAR BY LYNN OLSON, is an in depth non fiction of how the occupied countries leaders & citizens came together on the British shores to fight the Nazi's. You get to meet, not only the famous, like Charles De Gaulle & Queen Wilhelmina but the not so famous, people like Andree de John who with her group of French people, took it upon themselves to bring Allied fighters out of German territory. Like Jeanne Rousseau, the blond twenty four year old with a photographic memory who while flirting with German generals learned all they knew & passed it on to the Allies. These people and thousands more, some just faceless but fearless people risked their lives to fight Hitler and the Nazi's .
I could not stop reading this book. The people were brought alive right there in the pages. The time, the history, the mistakes & bungles & the people who made history are right in this book. The book is presented so you are not just reading dry facts, you are living the lives and the history of the people, places & events happening . A great book! If you are a history lover or WWII buff or just want a great non fiction book that takes a reader right into the heart of WWII you will love this book.

THE BACKUP ASSET BY LESLIE WOLFE is the third book in the Alex Hoffman series but it is the first book I have read. The book is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded, you never know when a twist or turn comes and when it does it blows your mind!
I felt like I was reading headlines from the news the characters are so real, which I think scared me the most! I am definitely hooked and will be reading books one and two and waiting for the fourth in the series to come out.

SPEAKING OF MURDER BY LES ROBERTS
SPEAKING OF MURDER BY LES ROBERTS. This is the first book of the Milan Jacovich mysteries and I loved it! Very light hearted and the characters are well defined and likeable .
Milan and his cohort, KO (Kevin O'Bannon) are hired by a hotel to help provide security for some very controversial motivational speakers. The most problematic of them, Tommy Triller, who for various reasons, including his popularity, are targets for any would be hit man or wacko follower. Milan & KO find working hotel security not such a hot job as none of the main speakers want them around & they are all asses! When murder occurs on the first night, Milan finds himself nose to nose with his love Detective Tobe Blaine. From there the mystery really unfolds.
Not only did I get a pretty good mystery but I found the characters & the plot entertaining. I think Mr.Roberts just got another fan in me.

EXTINCTION HORIZON (THE EXTINCTION CYCLE# 1) BY NICHOLAS SANSBURY SMITH
EXTINCTION HORIZON (THE EXTINCTION CYCLE# 1) BY NICHOLAS SANSBURY SMITH is definitely one of those books that is so intense I forget to breathe!
What scared me the most about this book is that it could actually happen in reality.
So, what do we have here: We have the US government, who developed a experimental drug during the Vietnam War, give said drug to US soldiers, drug backfires and soldiers become monsters who eat people and themselves . Next, fast forward to today .US, gov has taken drug, mixed it with ebola and POOF, we have people who not only turn into monsters but they infect other people who thus infect other people and so on. It is up to Delta Force Team & CDC to try and eradicate this mess before they, & all of mankind are exterminated.
This book scared the daylights out of me .
I cannot wait to read second in this series!

" I DO" 15 YEARS OF TRUE STORIES FROM A WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHER BY KIERSTEN HALL
"I DO" 15 YEARS OF TRUE STORIES FROM A WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHER BY KIERSTEN HALL is over 200 pages of really what not to do when planning a wedding. Kiersten Hall has taken 15 years of her career and written this totally hilarious account of what happens before during and after the even best planned weddings . Everything from losing grandma to having the decorations on the tables catch on fire!
I have been married for almost 40 years and am NOT planning on getting hitched again but I enjoyed every page of this book. Married, single, planning to get married or not, "I DO " is the perfect book to relax with, read and laugh , or in some cases cry at 15 years of weddings that Kiersten Hall has videoed.

SEEING RED BY SANDRA BROWN
SEEING RED BY SANDRA BROWN is another successful, and suspenseful book by an author whom I have read numerous times (some more than once) SB puts the action and suspense in your face, fast & furious & all out thrilling read! The characters, some likeable, others not , are very in depth and you either love em or hate em.
Trapper, the drunk & washed out PI, son of an American hero, Kerra , the reporter who has not only a secret but a hell of a story of her own, and of course , the Major, father, hero & target, are the main characters in SEEING RED. If you like your romance with a healthy dose of suspense and mystery then SEEING RED BY SANDRA BROWN is the perfect read!

THE DRAWING OF THE THREE(DARK TOWER BOOK #2)BY STEPHEN KING
Join Roland and his ka-tet as they band together to find the Dark Tower! I have always enjoyed the Dark Tower series and have a tendency to revisit Roland every chance I get. The Dark Tower series is kinda like spinach, you either like it or hate it: I love the series which is why I return time and again. As stated before I revisit Roland's universe where things are moving on & Roland and KaTet is. In book two, Roland, injured by lober-like creatures (two fingers of his rt hand & a big toe) is suffering from blood poisoning . He finds doors,to other then's, and goes thru and brings back Eddie Dean, junkie & drug mule. He also brings back life saving(his) Keflex to treat the infection. As he and Eddie go along the beach they come upon the second door & bring back Odetta/Detta, a black woman with no legs and a split personality. Roland is dying & MUST have more of the life saving Keflex. THE DRAWING OF THE THREE (DARK TOWER #2) BY STEPHEN KING starts bringing the Ka Tet together . I usually start re reading the DT series with the second book as I always think of this one as the "beginning". As with all serials you have to start at the beginning & for me it is this book

FISSURES BY T.J. SLEE
QUACK (OR AS I HAVE, FISSURE) BY T.J.SLEE is the third in the Charlie Jones series. Charlie is now working for the taskforce on child protection and is investigating the death of a child and her father.
I found this book very strange! Charlie, who has some serious mental issues is trying to find out who is killing bad guys. The book has some really dark humor in it that I did find rather funny but the twist in the book totally unhinged me! I really liked her phone conversations with the Pope. They were really different. As a Catholic I found them truly hilarious! I only gave it three stars because of the way it ended.

ICARUS BY DAVID K HULEGAARD
What a page turner this book is! This is first in a series & I cant wait to get ahold of the next one. The book is short, 262 pages but its a wh0 done it all the way through!
Miller Brinkman, PI lives in Ashley Falls, a little town in Virginia in the 1940's . He is persuaded by a teenaged girl to find her best friend. The weird part about this case is her family deny's she's even missing. The case takes Brinkman to hell and back and he finds out things aren't what they seemed to be.

THE DAY THE PRESIDENT WAS SHOT BY BILL O'REILLY
THE DAY THE PRESIDENT WAS SHOT BY BILL O'REILLY takes an indepth look at the days prior and after the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan. You meet Hinckley & get a visual on his thoughts, his life & the torrid love affair he imagined with Jodie Foster. You get get a glimpse on the before the during and the aftermath of the shooting, including not only Reagan, but the officers, the agents & James Brady.
I am not a fan of O'Reilly's . But you cannot help but praise his writings on figures of history as well as the events that he writes about, and this book is no exception.

NO EASY TARGET BY IRIS JOHANSEN
NO EASY TARGET BY IRIS JOHANSEN:
I am an on again off again reader of Ms Johansen's but everytime I read one of her books I'm impressed about the depth of the characters & the true gutsiness of them , and Margaret Douglas is no exception. Margaret has successfully gotten away from a drug dealer & is on the run from him. She finds herself kidnapped by a wealthy man who wants to trade her up for a friend of his. The situation doesn't exactly work out the way he wants it!
Johansen is well known, and a best selling author because she can keep the reader glued to the pages till the very last and still come out with an ending that surprises you. I cant wait to see more !

Johansen is well known, and a best selling author because she can keep the reader glued to the pages till the very last and still come out with an ending that surprises you. I cant wait to see more !

FATEFUL MORNINGS(HENRY FARRELL#2) BY TOM BOUMAN
FATEFUL MORNINGS(HENRY FARRELL #2) BY TOM BOUMAN is the second in the Henry Farrell mysteries set in Wild Thyme Pennsylvania a small town but a town that is now seeing the dangers of drugs. Farrell is not only fighting the crime related to drugs, but now he has a missing person, possible murder on his hands.
This is the first in the Henry Farrell books I've read and I liked it so much I'm going to looking for the first book so I can really enjoy the series, in other words I'm hooked! Boumans main character, Henry Farrell is not your perfect law enforcement officer . He fools around with married women, & he drinks, sometimes too much, which makes Farrell seem just like regular folks. Maybe that's why he's such a good law officer & a good main character for this series.

A STRANGE SCOTTISH SHORE BY JULIANA GRAY
A STRANGE SCOTTISH SHORE(EMMALINE TRUELOVE #2) BY JULIANA GRAY is the second book in the series but for me its the first I have read. The book delves into multiple genres; romance , mystery, time travel and the paranormal. To some that would be too much but I loved it and cant wait to read book one and the next in the series to see what's going to happen. Emmaline is an incredible strong woman who does what she wants even though it does not blend into the timeline she is living at the moment. This gets her in trouble time after time. She is also deepening her love for Lord Silverton.
If you can follow the jumps in time, and the fast paced action you will really love this book.

GUMSHOE FOR TWO BY ROB LEINIGER
GUMSHOE FOR TWO BY ROB LEININGER has PI in training , Mort Angel , who, with his partner, fiancee and mentor Jeri DeFrazzia , looking into the mystery of a disappearing Senator Reinhart and the sister of a girl Mort met in a bar. Things turn deadly for Mort and he finds the two cases melding together into one heck of a case.
I found the mystery part of the book ok, but the rest, especially the redundant jokes and jibes about Holiday a bit boring. If the author had left most of that out it would have been a pretty decent mystery.

THE DAY THE WORLD WENT NUCLEAR:DROPPING THE ATOM BOMB AND THE END OF WWII IN THE PACIFIC BY BILL O'REILLY
THE DAY THE WORLD WENT NUCLEAR:DROPPING THE ATOM BOMB AND THE END OF WWII IN THE PACIFIC BY BILL O'REILLY takes a slice of history and gives us a minute account of the dropping of the bomb on Japan during WWII. I remember as a kid watching a show called You Are There, where they take an event in history and profile it. Bill O'Reilly has taken a slice of WWII and takes the reader back to the bloody Pacific war. O'Reilly shows the movements and the moments on both sides. We see MacArthur coming ashore in the Philippines & the Emperor of Japan, a living god to his people. We see the Japanese going about their daily lives not knowing the hell that awaits them. We see the Enola Gay, the plane that carries the bomb & the rest of history.
The dropping of the bomb on Japan during WWII has been a topic that is still debated in schools all over the country. Was Truman right to drop the bomb thus forcing the Japanese into surrender or should we have invaded Japan and lost thousands if not hundreds of thousands of American and allied troops That very question is asked of living Presidents as well at the end.
I have always enjoyed Mr. O'Reilly's history books. Being a history junkie or someone who wants to know a little bit more about WWII ,and the bomb ,you will as well.

A GOD IN THE SHED BY J-F DUBEAU
A GOD IN THE SHED BY J-F DUBEAU has everything in not only a horror novel but a mystery. Cults, sacrifice , serial killer, and more big secrets than a small town deserves. On a scale of one to ten on my weird/creepy meter, this hit a twelve!
For decades the people of Saint-Ferdinand have had to deal with a serial killer. Now the local inspector has caught the killer, or has he? Even as the self confessed killer sits in jail the killings keep on happening & minute by minute things keep getting worse and worse. Not only is the inspector dealing with murders but an entity has gotten loose and with it loose the town is in mortal danger.
A God in the Shed is not a mild horror novel. It is very graphic on many points. , which of course makes it all the better when it comes to the creepy/weird. I really and truly hope to see more of the authors works of the weird and creepy!

EXPOSED BY LISA SCOTTOLINE
EXPOSED (ROSATO & DINUNZIO, #5) BY LISA SCOTTOLINE
What happens when one partner decides to take a pro bono case to sue a client of the firm? Trouble, that's what happens!
Mary DiNunzio has decided to represent her friend Simon Pensiera in a lawsuit when she finds out that he has wrongfully been fired by his employer. Bennie Rosato tells her she cant because the company Mary wants to sue is a client of the firm and a conflict of interest. From there the sparks fly! Mary talks about quitting the firm, Bennie doesnt want her to go ahead with the lawsuit, and the head of the company is willing to do ANYTHING , including murder,to make this lawsuit that promises not only monetary damages, but horrible public relations in the media go away.
I seriously couldnt put this one down. Poor Mary trying to do what is best for her client is stuck in the middle of a huge mess and it may get her killed. I loved every heart pounding minute of this book.

JEWELS BY DANIELLE STEEL
JEWELS BY DANIELLE STEEL is the first and only book of this authors I have read. I have to give credit where credit is due. My mom insisted I read this one as I am a fan of Historical Fiction, so I did and loved it! Since I am a newby of this authors I cannot compare it to any of her other works.
I found characters that were true to real life, Sarah & her disastrous first marriage, her miscarriage & her profound depression. Sarah, literally forced to go to Europe with her parents, finds William, first a friend then her lifelong soulmate.
We see Sarah at age twenty two right up to her birthday at a very young seventy five. We see Sarah fall hopelessly in love with William, marry move to Europe and endure the second world war and beyond. We get to experience the birth of Sarah's children Spanning the decades I fell in love with Sarah, William & Danielle Steel.

MCNALLY'S SECRET BY LAWRENCE SANDERS
MCNALLY'S SECRET BY LAWRENCE SANDERS is the first in the McNally series. Sex, lies, and murder is what Archie is up to at this time. Archie is investigating missing Inverted Jennies from the home of Lady Horowitz one of his father's most wealth clients. Sounds innocent doesn't it? Simple? Not for Archie. He's up to his vodka gimlets not only clues but death!
I have always loved the Archie McNally series and to get a chance thanks to Netgalley, which provide the ebook free of charge in exchange for a review, of the first three books in the series I get a chance to follow Archie McNally around again by re reading the first three in the series.

RAVENHEART (CROSSBREED #2) BY DANNIKA DARK
RAVENHEART (CROSSBREED #2) BY DANNIKA DARK is the second in the Keystone series which introduced the reader to the main character Raven Black, kickass former street person now part of the Keystone criminal hunter for hire group. Still trying to get her bearings with the group and find her niche, Raven is paired with handsome bloodsucking vampire Christian, who is a constant irritation to Raven. But, dead bodies are popping up on streets and Raven and the group must help find the killer
This is not only the first of the series I have read but also the first book of the author's books I have read. The pace is fast, the chapters are short & the plot kept me turning the pages until the very end.

TURBO TWENTY THREE BY JANET EVANOVICH
TURBO TWENTY-THREE:STEPHANIE PLUM'S newest adventure(or is it disaster?) by JANET EVANOVICH continues the saga of Ms Plum's bounty hunting & sex life . Yes, maybe the series is getting a little tired but when you are running your own business and are working twelve hours a day like I am, it really helps to not only have a chance to sit back and read the zanie, wackie Stephanie & Lulu and laugh your socks off, but its good to know someone out there, even a fictional person is having a worse life than I am!
Turbo Twenty three starts off with a favor from Ranger. And of course any woman out there would not refuse Ranger, especially Stephanie. Ranger is looking into Bogart Ice Cream factory. Death and vandalism is going on there and Stephanie is perfect for the insider at the factory. Stephanie says yes because not only is it Ranger asking the favor but Stephanie and Lulu have just found the body of the Bogart HR manager in a truck freezer dead, impersonating a Bogart Bar!

ROBERT B PARKERS THE HANGMAN'S SONNET BY REED FARREL COLEMAN
ROBERT B PARKER'S THE HANGMAN'S SONNET BY REED FARREL COLEMAN is the next installment of the Jesse Stone series. Truth be told this is the first of any of Parker's books I have read ! I enjoyed it very much. So much I'm planning on hunting up more. As for the review: The in depth review, if you will, of Jesse's drinking & mourning helped me enjoy this book. Any other time I would have criticized the droning on of the issues, but being a newbie it gave me time to really get to know all the characters.
Sheriff Stone is having trouble in Paradise, literally! His drinking & his mourning is pushing him towards not only self destruction but the destruction of his friendships and his job! Stone has been tasked for security for a has been singer/songwriter by a mayor he can't stand( and vise versa). He has a robbery and a homicide and an assault to deal with, his best friend is leaving Paradise . I still find the mystery a good one & hope to see more of a hopefully more sober Sheriff Stone in the future.

THE ULTIMATUM(THE GUARDIAN #1) BY KAREN ROBARDS
THE ULTIMATUM(THE GUARDIAN, #1) BY KAREN ROBARDS. Bianca St. Ives is not who she thinks she is. She thinks she's a thief a con artist and a master of disguise but boy is she wrong. Things for Bianca are not what they seem to be and her father, she is learning is not who she thinks he is! Sound confusing? Not if you read THE ULTIMATUM, the first in the Guardian series by KAREN ROBARDS.
Robards is very well know for her thrillers & twist and turns of a story but this time she has even topped herself! Once you start reading this book you don't want to put it down until its done. Just when you think you have a handle on the plot and Bianca, Robards has tossed another monkey wrench into the mix and you start questioning the ending again. Not once during the entire book did I feel I had a handle on the ending which to me is the perfect thriller! I cant wait to read book two and see where this series goes.

DRAGON TEETH BY MICHAEL CRICHTON
DRAGON TEETH BY MICHAEL CRICHTON is supposed to be a lost manuscript by the late author. I have read most of Crichton's work & this just fit into his style. Mostly, a wild west, eighteen hundred historical fiction it doesn't have the flair Crichton had. Could this be a trunk book, a book that was finished and either rejected by publishers or the author and tossed aside or someone else's handywork? I 'm not sure nor will I hazard to guess. My take is if it is Crichton's work his heirs should have left it in the trunk!

AWAY IN A MANGER A MOLLY MURPHY MYSTERY #15 BY RHYS BOWEN
AWAY IN A MANGER BY RHYS BOWEN is the 15th book in the series, but that doesn't mean Ms Bowen is slowing down any with it comes to her Molly Murphy series. This book, starts around Christmas of 1905, Molly as usual gets her nose stuck into crime again, even with the addition of a family .This time it all starts with a trip to town & a beautiful little girl singing.
Whether it's your first Molly Murphy or you are a Rhys Bowen junkie, you can enjoy the series even if you have just jumped into it. I have read several of the Molly Murphy series in the past and still enjoyed the 15th book of the series I just finished.

GWENDY'S BUTTON BOX BY STEPHEN KING
GWENDY'S BUTTON BOX BY STEPHEN KING : is Stephen King's newest "short" novel. The story centers around Gwendy who unfortunately lives in Castle Rock,( we Constant Readers know ALL about the environment in Castle Rock). She meets Richard Farris (RF & Randall Flagg's pseudonym) who offers her a most unusual box. From there we see Gwendy grow up, & no I wont give the story away here!
This is a short novella, 164 pages, but I really enjoyed the weirdness of the plot . Being one of Mr. Kings Constant Readers I have always enjoyed his short stories so GWENDY'S BUTTON BOX is no exception.

THE TUMBLING TURNER SISTERS BY JULIETTE FAY
The Turners have a major problem: The year; 1919 & Mr.Turner cant work! The Turners dont have the money to pay the rent or for food! Mrs Turner has an idea, vaudeville! The Turner girls are young, pretty and have very short skirts!
THE TUMBLING TURNERS SISTERS BY JULIETTE FAY is a historical fiction novel of the life of vaudeville stars. The author has created for us a fictional family that I could have sworn by the excellent research and writing were real people. Told by two of the Turner girls, Gert and Winnie, the Turners travel the vaudeville circuit performing tumbling gymnastic routine. We meet Nell, whose is a new widow of a WWI soldier with a new child, Mrs.Turner, who dreams up & keeps the girls going from place to place ,and the rest of the family. We get to meet the people who made up the vaudeville entertainers : the French singer, the black tap dancer & many many more performers. We get a behind the stage look at what was Vaudeville!
Like I said before, THE TUMBLING TURNER SISTERS was so excellently researched & the characters are so vivid, I kept having to remind myself this was fiction!

THE QUIET COUP:A POLITICAL THRILLER BY ROB LUBITZ
THE QUIET COUP: A POLITICAL THRILLER BY ROB LUBITZ is the third in a series but can be read as a stand alone book as I did.
What a rollercoaster ride of a book! The twists and turns of THE QUIET COUP kept me reading way past my bedtime! I think I even forgot to breath while reading this its so good! What I love about this book is that it starts out so casually so peaceful, a picnicking couple who are obviously very much in love, & ends up with death, CIA plots, crooked Congressmen , car chases, shootings, and a whole mixed bag of adventure! What really scared me about this book is that it could be taken from reality, (maybe it is who knows)
If you like your thrillers fast and furious I highly recommend THE QUIET COUP BY ROB LUBITZ.

ROSEMARYS BABY BY IRA LEVIN
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of ROSEMARY'S BABY BY IRA LEVIN . ROSEMARY'S BABY is a classic in the horror genre. As you read this book you may wonder what is so scary about a young husband and wife living in an apartment building in New York? The more you read this book the more weird seems to be occurring, and I warn you , read it all so you can get the full weird effect! I love this book and all of Mr. Levin's books. He takes a rather mundane subject, like a couple living in New York and twists and turns it into the extreme bizarre! If you have read ROSEMARY'S BABY before or its your first shot at it I highly recommend it!

INDIGO BY A MULTITUDE OF AUTHORS
INDIGO BY A MULTITUDE OF AUTHORS: I never really believed that so many authors could invent and mold such a kick ass character as Nora Hesper/INDIGO !
Investigative reporter Nora Hesper is not your typical reporter. During the night she is Indigo, a person that can shape and draw the darkness to help her in her quest to find out where the killers of children all over the city are and dispose of them. Nora, during the daytime is investigating the killing of children. She knows who is doing it & she wants to settle up the score quickly before more kids die. Indigo on the other hand wants the Children of Phonos dead & quickly . Nora feels two ways about Indigo. She wants the killers dead , she wants the story, but she is still trying to deal with her Indigo personification . Nora/Indigo are Zorro/Batman & Super Girl all rolled into one and it makes for a very confusing, troubling & lonely life.
I was really impressed that so many authors (10) could collaborate on one story and not have the storyline get all choppy. I really hope to see more of Nora/Indigo cause she's one kick ass duo!

COME SUNDOWN BY NORA ROBERTS
COME SUNDOWN BY NORA ROBERTS is not your typical black sheep family member coming home.
Alice Bodine IS coming home, on her way actually when she is kidnapped, raped, tortured and forced to become Esther. Her sole purpose for the next 25years, satisfy and have boys for the wacko who kidnapped her. The Bodine Ranch & Resort run by the Bodine family for four generations are running along day after day until Alice is finally returned to the family, then all hell breaks loose
I have never been a huge fan of Nora Roberts books but COME SUNDOWN has pushed me a littler further into the Roberts camp. The writing is so vivid that I actually felt like I was living the events of the Bodine family. It didnt take long for me to really get into the book & when I did the ending came as a huge surprise.

PERISH FROM THE EARTH BY JONATHAN F PUTNAM
PERISH FROM THE EARTH BY JONATHAN F.PUTNAM is a genre cross LINCOLN AND SPEED book.
This Historical Fiction/Mystery set back in the 1830s, gives the reader an amusing look at Abe Lincoln, newly minted lawyer riding the trails and trials of rural Illinois. Mr. Lincoln at a stop in Alton, Illinois joins up with young Joshua Speed to figure out the mystery of the murder aboard Speeds fathers steamboat the WAR EAGLE.
I loved this book! It does have the best of both worlds: historical fiction & a fairly good mystery. It was amusing to read about the young Lincoln. I felt like I had stepped back in time to listen to Mr.Lincoln defend the innocent & tell his tales of his very young life.

MY EX-BOYFRIEND IS A PIECE OF CR*P AND OTHER WHIMSICAL STORIES BY CHARI FRISKY
MY EX BOYFRIEND IS A PIECE OF CR*P AND OTHER WHIMSICAL STORIES BY CHARLI FRISKY, is definitely not your typical piece of literature. Actually, I'm not really sure if it is literature in any sense! One thing about it is though, it is DIFFERENT! I read this book in an hour but took several days trying to figure out what to say in this review, so here goes. It is definitely strange! But in a strange way that makes you want to remember the stories and take a few days to figure out what to say. I guess if I am forced to give an opine on this book I'd say that you definitely have to read it to believe it!

MATCHUP:EDITED BY LEE CHILD
MATCHUP:EDITED BY LEE CHILD takes the best of the best when it comes to mystery/thriller/suspense authors (male & female) and matches them together to come up with some really great short stories. Each writer has taken their time out of creating their individual series to create these short stories for us, the reader. I sailed thru this book because of my love of each of these stories. Long enough to develop the plots well but short enough to be in this book.
A must read for any mystery lover.

TROPICAL ICE BY K.L. SMITH
TROPICAL ICE BY K.L. SMITH is an environmental thriller. Very well researched, the author uses mystery and thriller to point out the happenings against our environment. Dont let that stop you because this book is well worth the read!
Matt Oliver, travel writer is supposed to be in Belize for eight days to write an article on how wonderful Belize is for tourist. He doesnt even get off the plane before finding out that there is more to Belize than just great scuba diving and super restaurants. Oliver finds some of his friends are in the middle of a murder investigation and he gets suckered into helping them.
I had a little trouble getting started with the book because I thought that this was going to preach on global warming, overfishing , etc ,but as I got farther into the book I was pleasantly surprised at how the author took these issues, mixed in some very memorable characters, murder & intrigue and came up with a page turning mystery.

SILENCED JUSTICE BY JOEBROADMEADOW
SILENCED JUSTICE BY JOE BROADMEADOW is a fast paced thriller/mystery. From the very first page you get car chases, attempted murders, suicides & a view of a corrupt/unfair justice system, and I loved every minute of this book!
Josh Williams, husband & cop has been asked by a friend for a simple favor. Look into a case back from the seventies where a black man was tried and jailed for a crime. Easy right? Wrong! People in very very high places just dont want Josh to reopen the old wounds & the case. Does that stop Josh? Nope, it just encourages him to dig more.
The pace and the flow of the book is perfect. Not much slowing down of plot for the book, it just keeps going and going till the very end, just like Josh Williams and his determination.

NIGHTMARES AND DREAMSCAPES BY STEPHEN KING
NIGHTMARES AND DREAMSCAPES BY STEPHEN KING is a series of short& novella stories that goes back to Kings early days . He always has said he likes short stories & in my opinion I think NIGHTMARES AND DREAMSCAPES is one of his best short stories books. So , Constant Reader, as Mr.King calls us fans of his, fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the ride. Of all of his short stories I have to think my total favorite is CHATTERY TEETH which is in this book. My son, who is also a King Constant Reader agrees. While on vacation I happened to find a set of Chattery Teeth & brought it home as a gag present for my son! He loved them! So sit back, turn the lights on, put on your favorite tunes & enjoy NIGHTMARES AND DREAMSCAPES BY STEPHEN KING!
DARK SCREAMS:VOLUME SIX BY BRIAN JAMES FREEMAN
DARK SCREAMS:VOLUME SIX BY BRIAN JAMES FREEMAN . I LOVE a good horror story! And DARK SCREAMS gives the reader a selection of short stories written by the famous and not so famous writers. Starting with Stephen King's "THE DUDE'S TICKER) to a novella styled story you have a good variety of stories. If truth to tell, my favorite story here is "THE RICH ARE DIFFERENT" by Lisa Morton.

WINTER OF THE WORLD BY KEN FOLLETT
WINTER OF THE WORLD(THE CENTURY TRILOGY #2) BY KEN FOLLETT is the second in the Century Trilogy takes the reader to 1933 with the same five families, all from different countries. In this book we set the focus on the second generation & we get a deeper focus of their lives.
Spanning thru WWII, we still get to meet some very famous "real" people & meet new fictional characters, both good and bad.
I have so far enjoyed this series because I feel now that these characters are like family or friends, which is attributed to the excellence of how Mr Follett portrays them. As a historical fiction junkie I cant wait to get the time to finish the trilogy. Even though we bounce from country you will have no problem keeping up with the plot or the characters as Mr.Folliet is molding and binding them together into what I hope to be a great conclusion to the series.

EDGAR ALLAN POE: ANNOTATED & ILLUSTRATED ENTIRE STORIES AND POEMS BY ANDREW BARGER.
EDGAR ALLAN POE: ANNOTATED & ILLUSTRATED ENTIRE STORIES AND POEMS BY ANDREW BARGER. Poe has always fascinated me for some very strange reason, and now Mr. Barger has taken the entire collection of Poe's works, illustrated them & put them in a book 800 pages plus long. Like a fine vintage wine(AMONTILLADO perhaps?), Poe is meant to be read slowly and carefully.
There are plenty of books on Poe's work but this one not only has illustrations but footnotes at the bottom of the pages helping the readers interpret some of the words and phrases of Poe's time.
Before the author signed this book he asks "Do you know Poe?" My answer is "Yes, more so now seeing that I have read the book . If you are in the market for one of the most complete books on such a very underrated person of his time (Poe died poor) then this collection is the one to pick up.

WONDER WOMAN VOL. 1 THE LIES GREG RUCKA
WONDER WOMAN VOL. 1 : THE LIES GREG RUCKA. Its been many many moons ago since I picked up a comic book, or now they are called graphic novels. As a kid they were just that, comic books. Of my favorites, Wonder Woman! Of course, what girl didnt want to grow up to be just that: Wonder Woman. And in this volume, I have noticed she's not the Wonder Woman of yesteryear.
My niece, who works at a comic book store, got me back into reading comic books. And what better than Wonder Woman.
As I am coming fresh into the graphic novels so I see this as a very pleasant surprise. The graphic art , the depth of the pictures are great. The dialogue not so much but hey it is a graphic novel not a book. The bigger bonus in this volume is seeing the pencil sketches, not only scattered throughout but the coming sketches of episodes to come.

THE LOST WOMAN BY SARA BLAEDEL
THE LOST WOMAN BY SARA BLAEDEL is the second of her books that I have read. I read THE FORGOTTEN GIRLS and loved it, but this one I'm kinda on the fence on it. I liked it because it kept my attention throughout the book wondering who killed the poor woman (or is she?) in her kitchen and I did not like it because it just jumping back and forth between plots and characters that I got a little lost along the way and had to go back and figure out who is who and why they are. I think if it was a little less jumpy and more flowing it would have been a five star for me.

THE SILENT CORNER BY DEAN KOONTZ
THE SILENT CORNER BY DEAN KOONTZ: is the latest thrill ride from the master of suspense. I could not put it down. The fast pace of the novel kept me coming back for more. Strong main character & action that just does not stop.
I have been a Dean Koontz fan for decades and Mr Koontz very rarely fails me when it comes to page turning books. THE SILENT CORNER is no exception.
Jane Hawk is on the run, FBI agent, widow and scared to death. They say her husband committed suicide but did he? She knows he didnt. She knows he was murdered and it isnt just her husband. Jane is trying to find answers before THEY come and shut her up permanently.
Dont miss this one folks. Dean Koontz has done it again!

THE WOMEN IN THE CASTLE: BY JESSICA SHATTUCK
THE WOMEN IN THE CASTLE BY JESSICA SHATTUCK is a historical fiction novel set before, during and after WWII, when three women all of who are connected by one crazed leader, Adolph Hitler. These women, whose husbands were instrumental in either the plot to assassinate Hitler or openly critical of him. Their husbands were either jailed and or executed. Maryanne, the leader if you will, strong & the one who promised her husband that she would seek out and care for the others. Benita, young and once very beautiful who only wanted to have her dreams fulfilled. Ania, the third of the group. All these women & their children tried & sometimes failed to deal with not only the war but the afterwards & the rebuilding of their lives.
I found this book addicting. The more I read the more I wanted. This is not a feel good type of story but you will still find it hard to forget. It kept me turning pages and wanting more. The more I got the more I wanted. It was like stepping into a time machine and living in that drafty cold castle with those three women.

THE DEVIL'S TRIANGLE BY CATHERINE COULTER: is the latest book in a long line of fast, paced high action books This is the first of this series I have read but it makes no difference you can pick up the characters very quickly. DEADLY WEDDING BY KATE PARKER
DEADLY WEDDING BY KATE PARKER: This is the first book I've read of the authors and I am more than happy with it.
The setting : a wedding, or is it? The beginning of the book starts out to be a cozy mystery and morphs into something pretty special in my opinion. Olivia, thinking she's going to a wedding of a childhood friends, gets mixed up in a murder. Then, when you think Olivia's on the right track more death and near death. In the middle the story takes a bit of a twist because of a request from her boss at the newspaper, and no I'm not telling what!! The ending came as a surprise to me, which, with cozy mysteries does not happen very often.
I loved the book. I loved the characters . And I loved the historical fiction aspect of the book. Well done KATE PARKER. I cant wait to read the next adventure of Livvy's

FALL OF GIANTS BY KEN FOLLETT
FALL OF GIANTS BY KEN FOLLETT, first off is almost a thousand pages. In other words, if you want a good book to read over the weekend, forget this one! Other than that, FALL OF GIANTS is excellent if you, like me are addicted to historical fiction. The book follows five different families during the period of WW I and the Russian revolution. You not only get to meet those five families, but very famous characters throughout history like Churchill, Lenin, President Wilson and and more. Watch the five families (as well as their servants) love, live & fight in a war that killed millions.
I loved this book , and yes I read the entire book. It took me a couple of weeks but it is well worth the time and effort. FALL OF GIANTS is the first of a trilogy but can be read as a stand alone if wanted.
I highly recommend FALL OF GIANTS to anyone who is a historical fiction junkie like I am!

THE DA VINCI CODE BY DAN BROWN is a re read for me. Actually its a re re re re read(you get the point!) I love the way Mr.Brown takes history and puts it into a suspense novel. SISI:EMPRESS ON HER OWN BY ALLISON PATAKI
SISI-EMPRESS ON HER OWN BY ALLISON PATAKI introduces the reader to Empress Elizabeth of Austria-Hungry, young and very beautiful but wanting nothing more than to ride her horses & be as far away from Vienna and her husband as possible. The author takes historical facts and weaves the tales of Sisi's life in a way that makes you want to read more. The book lets you walk ( or in Sisi's case ride at times) with her, her husband, her children & her insatiable mother in law Sophie. And I did find myself captured in Pataki's words and did follow Sisi and her life. I lived with Sisi thanks to the work of this author. If you are into historical fiction, then I highly recommend SISI: EMPRESS ON HER OWN BY ALLISON PATAKI

A GOOD MARRIAGE BY STEPHEN KING
A GOOD MARRIAGE BY STEPHEN KING: I have been a Stephen King fan for many many years. I am not saying that I like all Kings books because that would be a lie. So when I tell you that A GOOD MARRIAGE, a King short story is ten stars I mean its GREAT! This is old school King, meaning that the book starts out innocent enough( a woman describing her marriage) and concludes with an ending that is so typical King. I have always thought that his short stories are always his best efforts, and A GOOD MARRIAGE is no different.

THE TEA PLANTER'S WIFE BY DINAH JEFFERIES
THE TEA PLANTER'S WIFE BY DINAH JEFFERIES is about Gwen Hooper, who at the age of 19 marries a tea grower after a whirlwind romance. She knows very little about Lawrence, her new husband ,and even less about Ceylon the country, or how to be a married woman. Her duties are to manage the accounts of the house(which she has no experience in) manage the household staff ( which hate her) & to be the wife of a man she barely knows. Secrets abound at the plantation & about her husband & Gwen is determined to find out all the answers.

THE HELP BY KATHERYN STOCKETT
THE HELP BY KATHRYN STOCKETT taker the reader back to the sixties in Mississippi. A time where segregation was the norm and Martin Luther King's famous march in Selma AL is about to happen. New college graduate Euphina Phelan who is white has questions. Questions like where is Constantine the black maid of the Phelan house? No one will give her the answer so she sets out on her own to find out one way or another. With the help of two black maids Minnie and Aibileen she gets her answers and more.
Euphina is writing a book, a book about what it is like to be black in Mississippi & what the maids and all blacks deal with. Everything from listening to white people talk about black diseases to having to use a bathroom for blacks only to having to go to black doctors at black hospitals, black libraries, black grocery stores and more. The covers of discrimination are being tossed back and the picture is NOT pretty, and its a white woman who's doing it!
I loved this book! The characters are right out of the pages of the early sixties. So real you can reach out and touch them!

HOUSE RULES BY JODI PICOULT
HOUSE RULES BY JODI PICOULT: Believe me when I tell you I would have never chosen to read a book from this author but it was my "blind date" book from my local library so I picked it and I read it. I did not read all of it because the middle part of the "mystery" was the trial which drug on and on. Needless to say I was very surprised that what sections I did read I enjoyed. I enjoyed the characters they were well rounded and very believable, from Emma the mother to Oliver the attorney the author created a pretty well rounded story. If only the murder trial had not slugged its way thru most of the book it would have gotten higher ratings from me.

THE HORSE WHISPERER BY NICHOLAS EVANS
Every February our local library does a "blind date with a book" They take all genre's of books, wrap them in newspapers & put a red bow on them. Patrons "pick a blind date" check it out and rate the book for prizes. My first "blind date" this year is THE HORSE WHISPERER BY NICHOLAS EVANS. Keep in mind you do not know what type of book you get until you unwrap it,which is part of the fun!
I have a love/hate relationship with these subjects of books. I loved it( I read it in only three days) and I hate it because I cried thru parts of it & I hate to cry while reading,my husband and son make fun of me! This book plays to basic emotions. The characters could be your best friends or relatives . I cried when Grace had her accident. I cried for her I cried for Promise! (I am a horse lover) I was hurt when I read of the extensive damage Promise lived thru. I cheered when Tom Booker started working with Promise & I cried and cheered all the way thru the book.
THE HORSE WHISPERER is a rollercoaster of a book that plays on emotions of the reader. No wonder the movie of the same title did so well. I would give it a ten star if I could.

FINDING JOSIE BY WENDY BILEN
FINDING JOSIE BY WENDY BILEN takes the reader (and Wendy Bilen) back to the life of her grandmother Josie Broadhead. Most of us have had or still have grandmothers like Josie. From the first page I not only got to know about Josie, but it brought back all the memories of my grandmother who like Josie was born and raised on a farm. Josie, her life, her love & her passion of writing and taking in the strays of the world that just happened to stop at her house to ask for a handout or a bed.
Its not very often that I find a biography that can hold my interest page after page. Wendy Bilen did just that with FINDING JOSIE. The author ( and Josie's granddaughter) did a fantastic job of bringing Josie back to life in this book. I kept wanting to know more about Josie & her family. About how Josie herself found a passion in writing even though it was not perfect enough for publication, just perfect for Josie though. FINDING JOSIE BY WENDY BILEN is that rare biography that does not bloviate the subject nor make them larger than life. FINDING JOSIE is about a real woman who, not famous, was the perfect subject for a biography, a normal woman. Who better than a real, average, American woman to be a person who's life story must be shared by all.

THE ART OF THE DEAL BY DONALD J TRUMP
TRUMP: THE ART OF THE DEAL BY DONALD TRUMP: Ok,first off I'm reviewing the contents of the book not doing a political commercial either way! With that being said, the book I found pretty interesting. Yes, its written back in the 1980's when Trump was younger and not in his present position. As for the content, its told by Trump and how he became rich poor and rich again. I read this book now because I wanted an insight into the person Trump & how the man thinks and what he believes. THE ART OF THE DEAL showed just exactly that: what you see then and now is what you get! If you want an insight into the real Donald Trump I suggest you read the ART OF THE DEAL & maybe you will figure out, like me what he's doing & why!

BABY DOLL BY HOLLIE OVERTON
BABY DOLL BY HOLLIE OVERTON is not the thriller I'd hoped it would be. The one good thing about it I can honestly say about it was that it was over quickly, that it read fast. That being said, the layout & the whole concept of the book was lost. Starting out with the "ending" where Lily and her child get away was I think the downfall of the book. The thrill was gone by then. The chapters were short, chopped up really, and switching from person to person in this chopped up way turned me off the book completely. I saw the end coming so there was not a thrilling end to it. Desperately seeking a thrill in this book was a total waste of my time. BESIEGED BY A.J. TATA
BESIEGED BY A.J. TATA. Wow! From page one to the very end you get action, bombings, Iranians on American soil & in the middle of all the chaos a little girl with special talents and special needs. Jake Mahegan former Special Forces walked into the middle of a hornet's nest when he visits an elementary school. After the school is bombed, Jake must figure out why the bad guys want a little girl. Misha is no ordinary girl as we (and Jake) find out the hard way. From the moment he enters the school its non stop action, numerous bombings and bad guys who want him dead and the girl in their possession. Jake must stop them at all costs.
This is the first of this series I have read ( This is book three) but I've become an instant A.J Tata fan! He makes sure there is no dull moments in his books!

THE BIG BOOK OF RANDOM FACTS VOLUME 2: BILL O'NEILL
THE BIG BOOK OF RANDOM FACTS VOLUME 2: BILL O'NEILL is just that 1000 interesting facts for people like me who are addicted to trivia and little factoids. My brother got me hooked on trivia when I was younger and I have since read numerous trivia/fact books. This one reads quite fast . Little facts like: those centipedes in your basement eats spiders and roaches. If you are a fan of trivia/fact books or just want a quick read in the doc's office read this book.

STALKED BY ELIZABETH HEITER
STALKED BY ELIZABETH HEITER: is the fourth in the series of the profiler books. This is the first book of the series I have read. I usually find it somewhat difficult stepping into the middle of a series but not with this one. The very first thing the author did was to recap what the plot line was from books 1-3 which was a huge help in getting up to speed with the series and its characters. A huge plus there on that point! Second, it really wasnt a big deal stepping into the series since the author did a great job of the little fill ins along the way. Great character development, good plot & just enough twists in the story to keep me interested all the way thru. If you really go for the plot within a plot within a plot type of book, you will like STALKED BY ELIZABETH HEITER.

MISSISSIPPI BLOOD
MISSISSIPPI BLOOD BY GREG ILES is the third in the book of trilogies starting with Natchez Burning, & The Bone Tree. In all honesty this is the first book of Mr.Iles I have read, so in other words I started at the ending. It doesnt matter to me though. MISSISSIPPI BLOOD is so fast paced and so page turning that I picked up the nuances of the trilogy right away.
Set in Natchez, Mississippi (the authors home town) Penn Gage and his family are battling forces of evil that have been around decades. These forces are men who feels its justified now & back in the 60's the KKK or in this case a very radical version the Double Eagles to beat, kill, rape African Americans & any whites who stand with them or love them.
Lives are at stake in Mississippi Blood, lives of Penn Gage's family, friends & yes Penn Gage himself. Lives of the past, lives of the present & the future. Penn Gage must not only try to save his father from death but keep away from and help capture the worst of the worst member of the Double Eagles.
Its never easy to walk right into a series or in this instance a trilogy, but Mr Iles writes so well that I did not have to read the first two books even though I plan to . I had no trouble enjoying MISSISSIPPI BLOOD to the very last page. The book is fairly long, over six hundred pages but dont be daunted because of it. This book reads so fast and the pace stays so strong you will be done before you know it.

MURDER ON THE SERPENTINE BY ANNE PERRY
MURDER ON THE SERPENTINE BY ANNE PERRY: I have been an avid fan of the Thomas & Charlotte Pitt novels since the very beginning & while some of the series books have lagged in plot this one I feel is up to Perry's usual standards of a great mystery/historical fiction.
Thomas Pitt now head of the Special Branch is commanded to attend Queen Victoria, once a young vibrant Queen, now much older and still in mourning over the death of Albert. Victoria, worried about her son, the Prince of Wales & the heir apparent to the throne, "asks" Pitt to investigate the death of one of her friends who died mysteriously while gathering information on the people that Prince Edward calls his friends. Pitt must accept this as a command feels this is not part of his job at Special Branch but hey its the queen so he must obey. To Thomas's surprise, while he is investigating, finds that yes it is his job.
Ms Perry in MURDER ON THE SERPENTINE, has brought Thomas & Charlotte and all the rest of the familiar characters back up to standard to make this who done it & why a really good read for the fans of the Thomas & Charlotte readers.
