THE DROWNING BY J.P.SMITH

For those of us who went to some kind of summer camp, the scenario is well known. During the day its hiking , swimming and all kinds of great stuff. You make new friends and at the end of the camp you sit around the fire roasting marshmallows and singing.  Then the camp counselor tells the spooky tale.  You all know it.  The tale about the creepy murderer or the old guy who lives alone who stalks and captures children.  Well, in THE DROWNING BY J.P. SMITH the tale is creepy and the story which is supposed to just scare the kids is true, or is it?

Joey Proctor, eight years old, small even for his age & not many friends.  His parents are have marital problems and they think it would be a grand idea for Joey to go to camp while they sort their problems out if they can.   Joey is afraid to swim.  He hates the water as a matter of fact, scared of it.  His swim counselor, Alex Mason is damn determined to get Joey to swim from the raft to the shore even if it kills Joey.   Mason decides to leave Joey and tells him sink or swim kid then goes back to his cabin. The next day Joey is missing.  An exhausting search of the lake and the woods shows no Joey.  End of story, right?  Not even close. Mason leaves camp never to return years later he is successful, married with two lovely girls when his life takes a chilling turn.  Someone out there wants Mason to pay for Joey's death buy taking away everything from him, or are they?  And believe me I am NOT going to tell you the ending here. You have to read this yourself.

THE DROWNING rated a ten on my creeped out list of books that I will not forget anytime soon.  Just when you think you have an idea who and what, the author tosses another wrench into the book and you sit there saying to yourself, really?  The ending of THE DROWNING  will knock your socks off !  What a great read.  Everything in a scary , creepy mystery, suspense novel you would ever want.  Dont miss this one folks.

I recieved this book free from goodreads in exchange for a review.
