FATEFUL MORNINGS(HENRY FARRELL#2) BY TOM BOUMAN

FATEFUL MORNINGS(HENRY FARRELL #2) BY TOM BOUMAN is the second in the Henry Farrell mysteries set in Wild Thyme Pennsylvania a small town but a town that is now seeing the dangers of drugs.  Farrell is not only fighting the crime related to drugs, but now he has a missing person, possible murder on his hands.

This is the first in the Henry Farrell books I've read and I liked it so much I'm going to looking for the first book so I can really enjoy the series, in other words I'm hooked!  Boumans main character, Henry Farrell is not your perfect law enforcement officer .  He fools around with married women, & he drinks, sometimes too much, which makes Farrell seem just like regular folks.  Maybe that's why he's such a good law officer & a good main character for this series.

A STRANGE SCOTTISH SHORE BY JULIANA GRAY

A STRANGE SCOTTISH SHORE(EMMALINE TRUELOVE #2) BY JULIANA GRAY is the second book in the series but for me its the first I have read.  The book delves into multiple genres; romance , mystery, time travel and the paranormal.  To some that would be too much but I loved it and cant wait to read book one and the next in the series to see what's going to happen.  Emmaline is an incredible strong woman who does what she wants even though it does not blend into the timeline she is living at the moment.  This gets her in trouble time after time.  She is also deepening her love for Lord Silverton.

If you can follow the jumps in time, and the fast paced action you will really love this book.

GUMSHOE FOR TWO BY ROB LEINIGER

GUMSHOE FOR TWO BY ROB LEININGER has PI in training , Mort Angel , who, with his partner, fiancee and mentor Jeri DeFrazzia , looking into the mystery of a disappearing Senator Reinhart and the sister of a girl Mort met in a bar.  Things turn deadly for Mort and he finds the two cases melding together into one heck of a case.

I found the mystery part of the book ok, but the rest, especially the redundant jokes and jibes about Holiday a bit boring.  If the author had left most of that out it would have been a pretty decent mystery.

THE DAY THE WORLD WENT NUCLEAR:DROPPING THE ATOM BOMB AND THE END OF WWII IN THE PACIFIC BY BILL O'REILLY

THE DAY THE WORLD WENT NUCLEAR:DROPPING THE ATOM BOMB AND THE END OF WWII IN THE PACIFIC BY BILL O'REILLY takes a slice of history and gives us a minute account of the dropping of the bomb on Japan during WWII. I remember as a kid watching a show called You Are There, where they take an event in history and profile it.  Bill O'Reilly has taken a slice of WWII and takes the reader back to the bloody Pacific war.  O'Reilly shows the movements and the moments on both sides. We see MacArthur coming ashore in the Philippines & the Emperor of Japan, a living god to his people.  We see the Japanese going about their daily lives not knowing the hell that awaits them.  We see the Enola Gay, the plane that carries the bomb & the rest of history.

The dropping of the bomb on Japan during WWII has been a topic that is still debated in schools all over the country.  Was Truman right to drop the bomb thus forcing the Japanese into surrender or should we have invaded Japan and lost thousands if not hundreds of thousands of American and allied troops  That very question is asked of living Presidents as well at the end.

I have always enjoyed Mr. O'Reilly's history books. Being a history junkie or someone who wants to know a little bit more about WWII ,and the bomb ,you will as well.

A GOD IN THE SHED BY J-F DUBEAU

A GOD IN THE SHED BY J-F DUBEAU  has everything in not only a horror novel but a mystery. Cults, sacrifice , serial killer, and more big secrets than a small town deserves.  On a scale of one to ten on my weird/creepy meter, this hit a twelve!

For decades the people of Saint-Ferdinand have had to deal with a serial killer. Now the local inspector has caught the killer, or has he?  Even as the self confessed killer sits in jail the killings keep on happening & minute by minute things keep getting worse and worse. Not only is the inspector dealing with murders but an entity has gotten loose and with it loose the town is in mortal danger.

A God in the Shed is not a mild horror novel.  It is very graphic on many points. , which of course makes it all the better when it comes to the creepy/weird.   I really and truly hope to see more of the authors works of the weird and creepy!

EXPOSED BY LISA SCOTTOLINE

EXPOSED (ROSATO & DINUNZIO, #5) BY LISA SCOTTOLINE

What happens when one partner decides to take a pro bono case to sue a client of the firm? Trouble, that's what happens!
Mary DiNunzio has decided to represent her friend Simon Pensiera in a lawsuit when she finds out that he has wrongfully been fired by his employer. Bennie Rosato tells her she cant because the company Mary wants to sue is a client of the firm and a conflict of interest.  From there the sparks fly!  Mary talks about quitting the firm, Bennie doesnt want her to go ahead with the lawsuit, and the head of the company is willing to do ANYTHING , including murder,to make this lawsuit that promises not only monetary damages, but horrible public relations in the media go away.

I seriously couldnt put this one down. Poor Mary trying to do what is best for her client is stuck in the middle of a huge mess and it may get her killed. I loved every heart pounding minute of this book.

JEWELS BY DANIELLE STEEL

JEWELS BY DANIELLE STEEL is the first and only book of this authors I have read.  I have to give credit where credit is due. My mom insisted I read this one as I am a fan of Historical Fiction, so I did and loved it!  Since I am a newby of this authors I cannot compare it to any of her other works.
I found characters that were true to real life, Sarah & her disastrous first marriage, her miscarriage & her profound depression.  Sarah, literally forced to go to Europe with her parents, finds William, first a friend then her lifelong soulmate.
We see Sarah at age twenty two right up to her birthday at a very young seventy five. We see Sarah fall hopelessly in love with William, marry move to Europe and endure the second world war and beyond.  We get to experience the birth of Sarah's children Spanning the decades I fell in love with Sarah, William & Danielle Steel.
